Relaxing while traveling is easy for some, but has to be enforced for us. Pet sitting requires us to be in one place for a while and find a routine. This is our time to relax. We also get immersed in a location unlike the traveler experience. It is by far, the best element of our nomadic lifestyle.

One of the secrets to our travel is a blend of tourist activities, all the must-do’s, and getting off the beaten track. Lots of tourists think they get off the beaten track: they walk a street parallel to the main tourist drag and think they have “gone native”. True the street over will be less touristy, less ambiance, and probably cheaper, while often better food. Good on you. But to get way off the tourist track, our formula is house sitting.

We are out of the campervan. Enjoyed it, but we were happy to give it back. We are traveling the south of the South island. We are starting to count our days left in NZ and plan some fun. Only about 6 weeks to go. It is going to be sad to leave here; this country has taken our hearts. We are really lucky to be here: no covid (knock on wood) and no other tourists to compete with, and lots of deals.
